Where is the Seekers Summer Camp located ?
For many years now, our camp has been located at Bishop Ryan High School in east Hamilton. The school is located on Quigley Road just south of King Street. Campers will enter the gym each morning and leave each evening by the doors facing the football field. ..... top .....

What criteria are used in setting up training groups ?
We use each camper's age and grade in setting up groups. Ability plays no role in the assigning of groups as we expect each camp coach to provide training which will motivate campers of all levels. Our club coaches are available throughout each day to help those who are either advanced or newcomers. More experienced players are given opportunities to help others if that is their desire. ..... top .....

How is Week 1 different from Week 2 for campers who go for both weeks ?
We have a set program for girls who attend for one week. This involves training in the basic skills as well as team formations for various parts of the game. Although all campers will work on the same skills during each session, older campers will be given much more advanced techniques.
Campers who choose our two week program will be given (during week two) advanced training in the skill sessions and will be trained more specifically in preferred positions. More emphasis is given to team work, winning strategies and deceptive techniques and tactics. ..... top .....

What facilities do you use for training ?
At Bishop Ryan High School, we have two gyms with a total of four indoor courts. We also use up to six outdoor grass courts. Campers alternate between indoor and outdoor courts from session to session each day. ..... top .....

Can parents observe sessions during the week ?
Parents are most welcome to observe any session throughout the week. Many parents choose to come Friday morning for the skits sessions performed by our younger campers as well as the closing ceremonies Friday afternoon. We also have a good number of parents who arrive early each morning to watch the previous day's slide show. This starts at about 8:10 each morning. Parents who choose to watch during skill sessions are asked not to talk with either their child or the coach. Feel free to talk with the supervising adults at any time. ..... top .....

Can my daughter be placed in a group with her friend ?
We know this is a tough one for some parents but no, we don't intentionally place campers in groups with their friends. Besides being a scheduling problem, one of our main goals is to help campers meet new friends and gain confidence in their abilities to do so. We have teachers on staff who will watch for campers who need help in this area. Friends have many opportunities to get together during the day. Campers of the same age are training in the same area. Family groups are a combination of skills groups so some get together at these meeting times. During lunch, campers choose their own activities and their own companions. They also will meet up with each other during games in the afternoon. ..... top .....
